Congratulations to Downe House and Lindley Junior School Choir for winning the Barnardo’s National Choir Competition last week.
The competition was stiff. From more than 100 entries, 25 school choirs were shortlisted to compete in the fundraising event on Monday, March 12.
For the third year running Lindley Junior School choir won the under 12s category while the Kent College Choristers were awarded second place in the category.
Downe House Senior Choir won the under 18s category while St John’s School, from Leatherhead, took second place.
The £37,000 raised for Barnardo’s will help transform the lives of 272,000 of the UK’s most vulnerable children, young people, parents and carers across the UK.
We’re very proud that Downe House Senior Choir wore our dresses for the event. ‘I am utterly thrilled! The choir were breathtakingly amazing,’ said Charlotte Exon, Director Music at Downe House. They looked very smart too.
You can see the Downe House news story about it on the school website.
